Blog away

I suppose this will be the Pastors Blog for the Generation South Oceanside. Right now I am working on a ton of ministry projects projects. One that I am excited about is with the San Diego Southern Baptists. I have been asked to be the Pastoral Director for church planting which is a ton of fun./ i have been working with church planters and some of my old church planting buddies to help churches understand that they need to reproduce!

I am also writing my Doctoral Dissertation on how churches can raise up planters from within their congregation. Good times

In water-safety courses a cardinal rule is never to swim out to a drowning man and try to help him as long as he’s thrashing around. To do so is basically to commit suicide. As long as a drowning man thinks he can help himself, he’s dangerous to anyone who tries to help him. The reason why is becuase his tendency is to grab the one trying to help him and the result is he ends up taking them both under the water in the process. The correct way to rescue someone who’s drowning is to stay far enough away to where he can’t grab you. And then you wait. And when he finally gives up and quits thrashing around, you make your move. At that point the drowning man won’t work against you. Instead he’ll let you help him. The same principle applies in our relationship with the Holy Spirit. Until we give up, we aren’t really in a position to be helped. Have you given up ownership of your life to the Holy Spirit who wants to live within you? Because until then you can’t experience His power.

One Year Anniversary

In November it will be one year since Generation Church came into existence. The Lord has been so good in taking two dead congregations and creating one vibrant body in the middle of South Oceanside. In the last year we have seen 16 people be baptized, hundreds make decisions for Christ, join small groups and commit to membership. We have seen God use us to be a voice for the homeless in Oceanside. To say the least, God has been good

Easter Was Amazing

Our Easter weekend was amazing!
On Saturday we had somewhere around 400 visitors and on Sunday we had 341 people show up to worship. God has been so good to us and he continues to bless us. The Sunday after Easter is traditionally our lowest attendance of the year and we had 226 people in worship (a non holiday attendance record). Even more important than the number of people coming to our worship gatherings is the amount of decisions for Christ that have been made in the last few months. God has been so good to us and we look forward for further blessing

On April 28th we are having a Financial freedom conference at South Oceanside Elementary School. The event goes from 9:00 am till 1:00 pm and it is 100% FREE! Childcare and lunch will be provided.
